BOOK ONE

White Worms With Black Faces

Poo-Poo Doggie

It was Saturday morning and Milton happened to be home alone, that a somewhat rare situation. His parents, younger sister and Poo-Poo Doggie went out. “Yes! Home alone!” he sang with glee. A wonderful feeling surged through the young boy with the intense dark eyes, much like his Great Aunt Stella‟s. He slid down the banister, logo-appropriate University of Delaware tee-shirt separating from his perfectly threadbare Jeans just before landing squarely, did the seven-step victory dance, chest bumped the coat-rack, and ran toward the kitchen.

BOOK TWO

FRESHMAN YEAR Milton Billings proudly was accepted to State College. His plans were simple. Graduate without adding any years to his stay. He knew that would cost money. He was on a meal plan, had a quiet roommate, and learned that used books were just as good. In some cases even better, because some had notes in the margins. He took a part-time job at a Burger Buns and Beyond. And oddly, found that his meal plan was replaced by, burgers, buns and beyonds.

BOOK THREE

YOUNG MARRIED MILTON

DISTANCE MAKES THE HEART GROW FONDER

Alice Jo Billings opened the letter the postman just left in her silver mailbox and read: Faith mon Helios… A star among all Suns: As the rain continues to threaten upon the day I am longing for the beauty of the Sun… its warmth and heat… the warmth of my coffee are reminding calls for the heat of a bright day… the burn from the skies… the silence in my room haunts for captured in that silence, the pine for my Sun…

BOOK FOUR

DELAWARE

The day arrived… Depart-day… an apt variation of D-Day and possibly a foreshadowing! Alice Joe looked fondly at her home, thinking about all its wonderful comforts and what she had wanted to do this summer, repaint the wicker deck set, catch up on reading, attend a few theater shows, add to that, a few elegant dining experiences and fireworks at Longwood Gardens, yes, along with many visits to mom and dad's recently resurfaced pool.

BOOK FIVE

NEW MEXICO

And the more is what?

...His excitement gathered in his eyes, brightening them. "Saguaro National Monument is one of our first destinations."

She smiled, nodding with encouragement to go ahead. Inside, she thought and heard her inner-voice as it said, cacti thorns would impale him, wandering what medications she might need.

"White Sands... The sand dunes are unbelievable, so vast."
